WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IN NEWCASTLE

What is a ‘Hostel’?

The short answer is a hotel, but with more choices. A huge choice of room types, a great bar, self-service laundry are all standard at Euro Hostel Newcastle. Early check-in and late check-out are all available as is discounted car parking, tour sales and all the necessities you might need during your stay.

Who stays at a hostel?

Everyone looking for low-cost, city-centre accommodation. 18-80 year olds from all walks of life are flocking to hostel accommodation all over the world.

What sort of rooms do you have?

We’re a little different at Euro Hostel Newcastle. We have rooms for 1 to 14 people and you can book beds (in shared rooms) or rooms (private). We also have VIP and Mini Suites too!

Most of our rooms can accommodate 4 people in a private room with en-suite bathroom.

Will I be sharing a bathroom?

Not in our private en-suite rooms but yes you will in dorms. All our accommodation in shared dorms have shared en-suite facilities. There's no walking down the corridor to find the bathroom though.

Does Euro Hostel supply bed linen?

Yes, infact you are NOT permitted to use your own linen or sleeping bags. We also supply towels in private rooms. Guests in larger rooms can hire towels from reception for a small fee.

Is breakfast available?

Yes. We serve breakfast between 8am and 11am each day. £1 per item or 5 items for £4.50. If you need us to open earlier then we're happy to do so with advanced notice and minimum numbers.

What time is check in and out?

Reception is open 24 hours. Check-in is available from 3pm and check-out is by 11am. Early check-in is available from 11.30am (£3 per person) and late check-out is available to 2.00pm (£3 per person).

Is there Wi-Fi available?

Yes, a basic Wi-Fi connection is available throughout the hostel with your own device. It is free of charge throughout the entire building including all bedrooms. We also have a chargeable premium Wi-Fi service that allows super-fast broadband access for all your needs including streaming. Costs of our premium service varies on the number of days required.

Is there car parking?

Sorry, we do not have our own car park. There is however parking immediately outside the hostel that is free overnight but requires a paid displayed ticket during the day. There is also a large open air NCP available nearby that also requires a paid and displayed ticket.

I’m arriving late, will reception be open?

Of course, we’re open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Is there a curfew?

No. You have your own key to your room, so no need to rush home.

Can I smoke in my room?

Smoking in not permitted in the hostel. The hostel is completely smoke free, even in a private room. A £100 charge will be made if any guest is found smoking within the Hostel. Charges will be also apply for any room that has to be cleaned due to smoking.

Do I have to pay anything when I book?

Yes. At the time of booking you will be charged a 12% non-refundable deposit. If you are booking for a group (6 or more people) you will notice a special section within the Terms and Conditions that you will be asked to agree to. Super discount rates (Special Offers) have a 100% non-refundable deposit applied.

If I cancel my booking, do I lose my deposit?

Yes. To maintain our low rates, we have to recover costs on any lost administrative time and possible loss of income due to rooms not being sold when they were once booked out. Think of the budget airlines and what happens if you cancel with them!

What age do I have to be to stay at the hostel?

We welcome all ages but any under 18’s must be accompanied by 1 adult per 5 youths. Any guest under 18 is not permitted to stay in a dorm room even if accompanied by an adult unless the dorm is booked by a private group.
